Applications are now open for the Present and Powerful Global Trans Conference 2027!

In 2027, 250 trans and gender diverse activists and stakeholders from around the world will come together for peer learning, strategy-building, advocacy alignment, and collective care.

At a time of growing anti-gender opposition, democratic backsliding, and declining resources for our movements, the conference will create space to deepen solidarity, collectively analyze the challenges and opportunities ahead, and build strategies for stronger, more connected trans movements.

The conference will explore three key tracks:

• Human Rights in Times of Anti-Gender Opposition and Democratic Backsliding
  Exploring the political, legal, and social conditions affecting trans and gender diverse movements and strategies to resist anti-rights attacks and build collective power.
• Resourcing Equality Movements and Agendas
  Looking at how trans and gender diverse movements can be sustained, resourced, protected, and strengthened amid funding decline and increasing political pressure.
• Right to Health and Well-Being
  Focusing on the health, safety, dignity, and collective well-being of trans and gender diverse people and movements.

 

Who can apply?

GATE members and current or previous ITF grantee partners can apply for scholarships. Donors and trans and gender diverse community members can apply as self-paying participants. All applicants will go through a selection process.

Applicants can also submit an abstract proposal to contribute to the conference program. Submitting an abstract is optional and is not required to apply to attend.

Applications and abstract submissions are open from 1–30 September 2026.
