Our Mission
ITF is committed to transforming the funding landscape, which often disregards and underfunds transgender movements.
We mobilize and distribute financial and non-financial resources to trans-led organizations worldwide to advance the safety and liberation of trans people.
Our approach is grounded in four core areas of work:

We practice participatory grantmaking that redistributes power and centers accountability to trans-led movements.

We strengthen trans-led organizations through organizational development, financial management, accompaniment, and learning opportunities that support and sustain their work over the long term.

We understand that our oppressions are bound together and are committed to working collectively to undo systems of harm. We honor the diversity and intersecting experiences of trans communities. We challenge violence, exclusion, and oppression in pursuit of collective liberation.

We recognize that care is essential to sustaining people and movements. We act with honesty and transparency, holding ourselves accountable to our communities and centering fairness, safety, and dignity.

We listen and learn from trans movements, adapting our work as needs and contexts change. We stay grounded in broader struggles for justice, challenge norms, and support bold and transformative work.
Our Strategic Framework
Our 10-year Strategic Framework guides ITF’s work from 2026 to 2036 and responds to the evolving political and social realities facing trans movements worldwide.
Developed through a global participatory process involving 292 trans organizations across seven languages, our strategy is grounded in the realities, priorities, and leadership of trans communities.
